Dr. Raymond A. Fritz, Jr.

Born and raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Dr. Fritz started private practice in Allentown in 1991. He enjoys treating the full spectrum of foot and ankle problems. Dr. Fritz received his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree from Muhlenberg College and a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Degree from Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Fritz completed a two-year surgical residency program at Rolling Hill Hospital in Elkins Park, Pa. Dr. Fritz has the distinction of being Board Certified by the two nationally recognized boards for the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Dr. Fritz is also certified in Primary Podiatric Medicine by the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine. In addition, he is a Board Certified Pedorthist. Dr. Fritz is a Fellow in the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, a Fellow of the America College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine, as well as a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association.

Dr. Fritz has 28 total years of military service. As a Seal Corpsman, he was assigned to Seal Team One on active duty. Dr. Fritz continued to service in the Naval Reserves throughout his school years. He did return to active duty in 1988 to develop a podiatric surgical program at the National Naval Medical Center. During this period, Dr. Fritz served as the Director of Podiatric Surgical Residency Program, Podiatric Medical Consultant to the United States Naval Academy and to the United States Congress. He also served on board the USNS Comfort Hospital Ship during Desert Shield. Dr. Fritz retired a Commander. His last assignment was to Naval Special Warfare Group Two Det 107 in Little Creek, Va.


Lora Baker, DPM, FACFAS, FAPWCA Dr. Lora Baker

Born and raised in New Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Baker joined the practice in July of 2002. She enjoys treating all aspects of foot and ankle disorders.

Dr Baker is an avid runner and enjoys competing in 5K and ½ marathons on a regular basis. She likes to keep her athletes in their toes. She also has a special interest in heel pain, treating patients with state of the art options both surgical and non-surgical. She prides herself in being an expert in custom orthotic and bracing options as well.

Dr. Baker received her undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in biology and natural science at Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pennsylvania. She graduated with honors, Cum Laude and was granted her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in May of 2000. She completed her residency training for foot and ankle surgery in Philadelphia at Tenet Parkview Hospital. Dr. Baker is Board Certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Baker is also trained in the treatment and prevention of diabetic foot complications and is a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association.


Michelle McCarroll, DPM, FACFAS Dr. Michelle McCarroll

From Canton, Massachusetts. Dr. McCarroll, joined the practice in 2004 after practicing 2 years in Philadelphia and 7 years in Lansdale. Dr. McCarroll is no stranger to the Lehigh Valley as she did her surgical residency at St. Luke’s, Allentown, from 1993-1995. She is excited to be back in the area!

Dr. McCarroll received her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Pre-Medicine at the University of Massachusetts. She graduated Cum Laude, with honors, and received her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in 1993. After completing extensive training in diabetic foot care and forefoot surgery (bunions, hammertoes, neuromas), Dr. McCarroll went on to enhance her skills in high-risk wound and ulcer care by becoming a Certified Wound Care Specialist at Doylestown Hospital’s Wound Care Center.

Dr. McCarroll is Board Certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Her areas of expertise include ingrown toenails, custom orthotics, fracture care, and custom braces. Dr. McCarroll excels at teaching students, new practitioners, and surgical residents about the importance of getting a patient with foot pain back to walking as soon as possible.


Ann C. Anderson, DPM, FACFAS, FAPWCA Dr. Ann C. Anderson

Originally from Poughkeepsie, New York. She became interested in a career in foot and ankle surgery after her 20 years experience as a ballet dancer.

Dr. Anderson has been practicing with Allentown Family Foot Care, PC since July of 2005. She earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Temple University School and Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa. after earning her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Cornell University. She completed a 3 year reconstructive foot and ankle surgical residency training at the INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia. As part of her residency program, she completed extensive training in foot and ankle reconstruction, revisional foot and ankle surgery, and wound care/limb salvage training at the Georgetown University Hospital Limb Center.

In addition, Dr. Anderson has extensive experience and specializes in surgical procedures of the foot and ankle especially bunion reduction, flatfoot reconstruction and diabetic/Charcot foot surgery, and limb salvage. She has a special interest in treating patients with complicated wounds and preserving their ability to walk. She also enjoys performing revisional foot and ankle surgery. She understands the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle and is committed to caring for patients throughout all aspects of treatment from bracing and custom orthotics to surgical intervention and rehabilitation.

Dr. Anderson has also made a commitment to serving the local community. She serves as the only podiatrist appointed to the Medical Executive Committee at the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital and also serves on the Medical Records Committee at Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Dr. Anderson is Board Certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. She is also certified as a wound care specialist and is recognized as a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association.


Randy Smargiassi, DPM, FACFAS, FAPWCA

Joins the practice after a distinguished nine year career in the United States Navy. He has been assigned to the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland and to the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland as Department Head, Chief of Podiatry Service. He is regarded as one of America’s Top Podiatrists and the Specialty Consultant to the White House. He has been the Podiatrist to U.S. Congress and the Supreme Court; and an Assistant Professor at The Uniformed Services University Medical School where he taught “Foot Care in the Hostile Environment”.

Dr. Smargiassi received his Bachelor of Science with Cum Laude honors from East Stroudsburg University and his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency training at the VA Maryland Health Care System, Baltimore, Maryland earning the VA Gold Pin Award for outstanding service while Chief Resident. He is Board Certified in Foot Surgery and recognized as a Fellow, American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and American Professional Wound Care Association.

During his career, he has been involved in every aspect of foot care from complex wounds to complex sports injuries and fractures. In the Lehigh Valley, Dr. Smargiassi is becoming known for his skill and care for diabetic neuropathy, complex foot wounds, and athletics related injuries. His diverse experiences allow Dr. Smargiassi to have a keen understanding of patients’ needs and the importance of returning to their desired lifestyle. .
